COMPANY
PROFILE
Our company was founded in 1971 as a film production studio.
Over the years we have produced many films of many types, both in live-action
and in animation. We are but probably best known as a long established
animation company.
Our
animation has taken many forms, from television commercials, to specials,
to documentaries to theatrical cartoon shorts and more. We have done
traditional animation since l97l and got into computer animation early,
in l983.
We
have produced films for just about every market, and we enjoy that diversity.
We have produced for theatrical, television, educational, corporate
and other markets. Out of our animation experience came graphics and
illustration, and we were the first to have a daily black and white
weekday and color weekend comic strip syndicated in Canada in newspapers
across the country. We are about to launch a new comic book series in
2000.
The
vast animation collection of everything from animation art to posters,
to books to buttons-you name it-it numbers over 20,000 items at least
and has been drawn upon as the source of exhibitions and film retrospectives
for The Animation Museum, which travels around the world hosting these
events in museums, cultural centers and the like by invitation.
Our
company has therefore always been reaching out to those interested in
animation. We hold regular screenings, write articles in magazines,
teach animation at animation schools, guest lecture at others, attend
conventions and help young filmmakers. We are frankly proud to have
given new young talent a chance in this business and today are as proud
of our alumni who have gone on to work all over the world in many creative
fields as we are of those who are still working and learning with us.
This website will have a modest beginning, but we look forward to doing
some exciting things in the year ahead and beyond. It would be in keeping
with our constant creative quest. To see what we are currently up to
