TOM AND JERRY (c. 1945)
Two cels showing Tom chasing Jerry. The cels came together and from
the artwork would be around 1945. They have been put on an original
layout from a later Tom and Jerry cartoon (PECOS PEST, 1955) as
they go well together. The cels have been both cut down to 8 l/2 x
11” so without any numbers in the corners. The layout is on a full
punched sheet of animation paper 10 l/2 x 12 l/2”. It is marked
Prod. 289, Sc. 21 with notations: “Curtains animate”, “Tom flies
thru-curtains blow-Pecos walks thru doorway”. “4 cells”, “BOB! TRACE
ON TP” (top pegs), and a production stamp showing production number,
scene number, field size etc. Pin holes to the left of the
layout—must have been pinned up sideways a few times. In blue and
black pencil. A tear at the right bottom area of the Tom cel,
doesn’t reach to the character. |
