FIVE POPEYE EFFECTS ITEMS
(c.1937-1939)

In a cartoon short Popeye goes spinning around on what looks like a piano stool into the air. There is an animation drawing of him doing this and four completed cels also of effects from the same scene. The drawing is on a full sheet of animation paper 8 l/2 x 11” on which among the swish lines can be seen the outline of his head, hands and shoe! There is a notation for gray coloring on the sheet: “4&3”. The cels are also punched,
on four full cels 9 x 11”.
